Giants To Interview Kevin Abrams For GM Job Friday

Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports that the Giants are expected to interview interim GM Kevin Abrams for their vacancy on Friday.

As of the now, the Giants have interviewed:

  • ESPN analyst Louis Riddick (NFLTR)
  • Former Panthers GM Dave Gettleman (NFLTR)
  • Giants VP of player evaluation Marc Ross (NFLTR)

Earlier in the day, Mike Garafolo suggested that a pairing of Abrams as the Giants’ GM and Dave Gettleman as head of personnel could make sense New York, considering that this would allow Gettleman to build a roster without dealing with players and agents on the business side of things.

Charles Robinson added that Abrams is the is actually the candidate that consultant Ernie Accorsi is endorsing for the job.

The overall expectation has been that the Giants will hire their next GM first before turning their attention to finding their next head coach, so it’s possible the team will make a decision before the end of the regular season.

Abrams, 43, spent the past 16 years with the Giants as their assistant general manager. He previously served as their salary cap analyst.

After the Giants made the decision to fire GM Jerry Reese a few weeks ago along with HC Ben McAdoo, Abrams was promoted to interim GM.

We’ll have more regarding the Giants GM search as the news is available.
