Giants K Aldrick Rosas Formally Charged With Three Misdemeanors For Hit-And-Run

Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports that Giants K Aldrick Rosas has been formally charged with three misdemeanors stemming from a high-speed hit-and-run in Chico, California from back in June.

The three charges include reckless driving on a highway, hit and run/property damage, and driving with a suspended/revoked license due to previous DUI.

Witnesses say Rosas T-boned another car in his black Chevrolet SUV and then fled the scene. He was speeding at around 100 MPH and driving erratically before running a red light at around 8:25 AM.

Rosas hit a pickup at the intersection but kept on driving until his car broke down and he ran from the vehicle. Police later found Rosas walking near the crash site with blood on his hands, legs, and bare feet.

Police believe alcohol was involved. Rosas admitted to being the registered owner of the SUV.

The Giants placed a second-round tender on Rosas earlier this offseason. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2018.

Rosas, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Oregon back 2017. He was unfortunately waived by Tennessee coming out of the preseason and never signed to a team’s practice squad during the regular season.

The Giants signed Rosas to a futures contract for the 2018 season and he went on to have a Pro Bowl season. He re-signed as an exclusive rights free agent in 2019.

Rosas will be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

In 2019, Rosas converted 12 of 17 field-goal attempts (70.6 percent) to go along with 35 of 39 extra-point tries (89.7 percent)
