The New York Giants made a series of roster moves on Tuesday including placing WR Amba Etta-Tawo on injured reserve and signing TE Jake Powell to a contract.
The Giants also waived TE Isaiah Searight (injured) and DE Alex Jenkins.
Etta-Tawo suffered a torn Achilles on Monday, so this move was expected.
Regarding Searight, he’ll revert to the Giants’ injured list on Wednesday if he clears waivers.
Etta-Tawo, 25, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse back in 2017. He was among Jacksonville’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and signed onto their practice squad.
The Jaguars cut him loose after a couple of weeks and he had a brief stint with the Chiefs before the Giants signed him to a futures contract. New York cut him loose last year only to bring him a few weeks ago.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
During his three-year college career, Etta-Tawo recorded 124 receptions for 1,920 yards receiving (15.5 YPC) and 15 touchdowns.
