Dan Duggan of the Athletic reports that theย Giants have restructured the contract of LB Alec Ogletree and will prorate his $7 million roster bonus that was due today over the remaining four years of his contract.
- Jordan Raanan adds that Ogletree’sย cap figure for the 2018 season has been reducedย from $10 million to $4.75 million.
The Giant acquiredย Ogletree in a trade with the Rams in which New York parted withย 2018ย fourth-round pick and sixth-round picks.
Ogletree was due a $7 million guaranteed roster bonus today and his $3 million base salary for 2018 and $6 million roster bonus in 2019 were set to be fully guaranteed.
Ogletree, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2013. He played out the finalย year of his four-year, $7.03 million contractย but had his fifth-year option picked up last year.
Olgetreeย later signed aย ย five-year, $42.29 million contract with the Rams last October.
In 2017, Olgetree appeared in 15 games for the Rams and recorded 95 tackles, two sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble, a recovery and 10 pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 76 linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.
