The Giants announced Wednesday they’ve signed DB Terrell Sinkfield to the 90-man roster.
Sinkfield started his career as a wide receiver but has transitioned to defensive back in recent years. He ran an unofficial 4.19-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in 2013.
Sinkfield, 28, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa back in 2013. He lasted just a few weeks in Miami before later signing on with the Packers, Bills and Giants.
Sinkfield caught on in the Canadian Football League for a few seasons. In 2016, the Vikings signed him to a future/reserve contract before waiving him in the first round of roster cuts.
Sinkfield bounced on and off the Vikings roster before signing with the Jets in 2017 and sticking on the practice squad for the season. He re-signed on a futures deal for the 2018 season but was waived coming out of the season.
Sinkfield signed briefly to the Raiders practice squad before being waived again in early 2018. He appeared briefly in the now-defunct AAF with the Orlando Apollos.
During the 2015 season in the CFL, Sinkfield caught 69 passes for 1,030 yards receiving and six touchdowns while rushing for 132 yards on 28 carries.
