Giants Sign FB George Aston To PS, Release P Sean Smith

The New York Giants have signed FB George Aston to their practice squad and released P Sean Smith from the unit, according to Pat Leonard.

Aston, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Pittsburgh back in April. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Broncos.

However, Aston wound up being among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

During his college career at Pittsburgh, Aston rushed for 85 yards on 28 carries (3 YPC) to go along with 45 receptions for 277 yards receiving and 14 total touchdowns over the course of three seasons and 32 games.
