Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Giants are signing DE Devin Taylor to a contract on Tuesday.
- The Giants announced that they’ve placed DE Nordly Capi on injured reserve.
- New York also signed LB Trevor Bates to their practice squad and released WR Kalif Raymond from the unit.
Taylor, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Lions back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $2,460,584 rookie contract with the Lions before signing a one-year contract with the Giants this past May.
Unfortunately, the Giants cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
In 2016, Taylor appeared in all 16 games and recorded 28 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a safety and a pass defense for the Lions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 108 edge rusher out of 109 qualifying players.
We had Taylor featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
