The New York Giants announced Friday that they’ve waived TE Eric Tomlinson and G Kenny Wiggins and signed OT Kyle Murphy to their active roster.
Wiggins, 32, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State back in 2011. He lasted just a few months with the team before he was signed to the Ravens’ practice squad at the start of the 2011 season.
Wiggins would later return to San Francisco during his rookie year before ending up with the Chargers at the start of the 2013 season. He has spent the past five years with the Chargers before joining the Lions for the 2018 season.
The Lions signed him to a two-year contract in August of 2018 and re-signed to a one-year deal this offseason. He was on and off of their roster this season before recently signing on with the Giants.
In 2020, Wiggins has appeared in four games for the Lions.
Tomlinson, 28, originally signed on with the Eagles in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of UTEP. He was unfortunately among their final roster cuts, but later signed a future/reserve deal with the Texans.
Since then, Tomlinson has played for a number of teams including the Jets, Giants, and Patriots before catching on with the Raiders last December. He returned to the Giants this past March and has been on and off of their roster.
For his career, Tomlinson appeared in 45 games and caught 17 passes for 194 yards receiving and one touchdown over the course of four seasons.
