Greg Jennings Seeking $14 Million Per Year In Free Agency?

Tom Pelissero of ESPN “heard” that Packers impending free agent WR Greg Jennings could be seeking a contract that would pay him as much as $14 million per year.

While Jennings, 29, has been a great receiver for the Packers over the years, it’s doubtful that he’ll be able to secure anywhere near that kind of annual salary, even as an unrestricted free agent. Previous reports mentioned that Jennings could be in for a limited market.

For the sake of perspective, $14 million per year would leave Jennings as the No. 3 highest paid receiver behind only Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.

Packers GM Ted Thompson told reporters that he would like to retain Jennings, but that could just be posturing on the part of Thompson, as the two sides haven’t had contact regarding an extension to this point.

  1. Love Greg Jennings. The Packers don’t win the Superbowl in 2010 without him. He caught 4 balls that game and 3 of them were deadly to the Steelers. With all that said he’s now 30 years old. Missed 12 games and parts of two others the last two seasons. He’s not worth close to 14 million a year! Julio Jones, A.J. Green when their contracts come up maybe, but Greg is in for a reality check real soon. Hey Jennings, have you been listening to your sister again? If you get it good luck to you. Just remember you’ve had two of the best QB’s in the NFL,both past and present throwing you that ball in a system that pads the stats. Bet you 10-1 odds you don’t do that with your new team, unless it’d the Packers.
