Jacksonville Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon Charged With Misdemeanor

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon has been charged with a misdemeanor following his DUI arrest on Sunday, the Florida Times Union reports.

Blackmon has pleaded not guilty to the charge. A hearing has been set for July 24, three days before the Jaguars’ first training camp practice is scheduled to take place.

Payne County District Attorney Tom Lee said Blackmon did not face felony charge because he doesn’t have a previous DUI on his record. He was arrested for DUI in his redshirt sophomore year at Oklahoma State, but it was plea bargained down to a charge of a minor in possession of beer, and Blackmon was fined. There will not be a plea bargain in this case, however. He is unlikely to face jail time.

Blackmon could face a 1-2 game suspension from the league.
