The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they’ve activated DE Aaron Lynch from the exempt/commissioner permission list and placed WR Dede Westbrook on the injured reserve Monday.
Lynch announced his retirement from the NFL this past August before changing his mind last week.
Westbrook is believed to have a torn ACL.
Lynch, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.418 million contract before signing a one-year deal with the Bears for the 2018 season.
He re-signed with Chicago on another one-year deal for the 2019 season and was used as a rotational edge rusher before agreeing to a contract with the Jaguars this offseason.
In 2019, Lynch appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and recorded six total tackles, two sacks, and two pass defenses.
Westbrook, 26, was selected in the fourth round out of Oklahoma by the Jaguars in 2017. He’s in the final year of a four-year contract worth $3,076,164, which included a signing bonus of $676,164.
Westbrook is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
In 2020, Westbrook has appeared in two games for the Jaguars and caught one pass for four yards.
