Numerous NFL insiders are reporting that the Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed Trent Edwards off of waivers.
The Jaguars have had serious trouble this season at the quarterback position. David Garrard has been unproductive and looks technically unsound this season. Jack Del Rio has continued to support his Garrard despite his troubles but the fact that they brought in Edwards could suggest that he’s willing to make change in the near future to get the team back on track.
The Jaguars have already brought in Keith Null and Todd Bouman to back up Garrard so Edwards has some immediate competition to overcome but he could find himself as the backup in the coming weeks if he can show some promise.
