Jaguars DL Rodney Gunter Forced To Walk Away From NFL Due To Heart Condition

On Sunday, Jaguars DL Rodney Gunter announced via his Twitter account that he’s forced to walk away from the game, due to a heart condition.

Jacksonville placed Gunter on the non-football injury list last week.

Gunter, 28, was a fourth-round pick by the Cardinals out of Delaware State in 2015. He signed a four-year deal through the 2018 season before returning to the Cardinals last March on a one-year deal.

Gunter was placed on season-ending injured reserve back in December. He later signed a three-year deal with the Jaguars back in March.

In 2019, Gunter appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals and recorded 31 tackles and three sacks.
