Ryan O’Halloran reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars will in fact be placing WR Cecil Shorts on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday.
HC Gus Bradley told reporters on Monday they were “seriously” considering shutting down Shorts for the rest of the season, so this really doesn’t come as a huge surprise.
Shorts has been dealing with a groin injury that will require offseason surgery, and given the fact that Jaguars are now officially eliminated from the postseason, it makes sense for him get that taken care off at some point in the near future.
Shorts finishes the season with 66 receptions for 777 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
