The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Saturday that they’ve released QB Ryan Nassib and promoted G Chris Reed to their active roster.
Nassib had been operating as the Jaguars’ No. 3 quarterback, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise to see Jacksonville cut him to bolster their depth at another position.
Nassib, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Giants back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract with New York before signing on with the Saints back in June.
Unfortunately, Nassib was released by the Saints coming out of the preseason. The Jaguars signed him to a contract a few weeks into the regular season.
In total, Nassib has appeared in five games and completed nine of 10 passing attempts for 128 yards and one touchdown.
