Jaguars Sign CB Tommie Campbell, Place CB Alan Ball On I.R.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced that they are placing CB Alan Ball on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday and signing CB Tommie Campbell to take his place on their roster.

Campbell recently tried out for the Miami Dolphins, but he wasn’t offered a contract.

Campbell, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Tennessee Titans back in 2011. He spent three years with Tennessee before he was placed on waivers as the team trimmed their roster down to 53 players this past August.

Last year, he appeared in eight games and recorded 11 tackles.

Ball, 29, is in the final year of his two-year, $2 million contract. He has dealt with a few injuries, but it was his bicep that kept him out of Week 8’s game.

His 2014 season ends with him recording 22 tackles, one interception and three pass defenses over the course of seven games.
