ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed former Cleveland Browns DE Matt Roth to a one-year deal. It was reported earlier in the week that Roth’s agent had distributed an email to all 32 teams saying that they could have Roth for a one-year worth $3 million. The tactic obviously worked as the Jaguars wound up biting.
The fact that the Jaguars signed him is a little interesting considering that Roth was said to be looking to play in a 3-4 defense but Jacksonville employs a 4-3 defensive scheme. The Jaguars could use some more pass rushers so the move most likely won’t hurt anything.
