The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed fifth-round pick DE/OLB Chris Smith, according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.
Smith was highly productive at Arkansas, and likely fell to the fifth round because of his lack of size.
Jacksonville will likely use Smith at the “Leo” position, which is designed to move a player around to get him into optimal pass-rushing positions. ย While this position may limit Smith from becoming a three-down player, it will provide him with the opportunity to make plays.
Smith registered 21.5 sacks during his tenure at Arkansas.
