Jaguars Sign RB Joe Banyard, Place LB Sean Porter On Injured Reserve

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Tuesday that they’ve signed RB Joe Banyard and place LB Sean Porter on season-ending injured reserve.

Banyard, 28, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of UTEP back in 2012. After a brief stint with the Saints, Banyard caught on with the Vikings and spent just over two years in Minnesota before he was cut loose at the start of last season.

The Jaguars would later sign him to their practice before waiving him at the start of the regular season.

In 2015, Banyard appeared in five games for the Jaguars.

Porter, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He spent just close to three seasons in Cincinnati before he was waived in November of last year and later signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad.

Jacksonville brought Porter back on a future’s deal. However, he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and was later signed to their practice squad. The Jaguars promoted him to their active roster in recent weeks.

In 2016, Porter appeared in two games for the Jaguars but didn’t record a single statistic.
