Even so, Marrone did says that they will need to have Mike Glennon ready to play on Sunday against the Texans.

Minshew had X-rays last week that showed multiple fractures and a strained ligament in his right thumb.

He was reportedly dealing with discomfort in his thumb for a couple of weeks now, but didn’t tell the team until this past week when an X-ray after the loss to the Chargers revealed the issues.

Luton, 24, was selected in the sixth round of this year’s draft out of Oregon State. He signed a four-year, $3,476,756 contract that included $181,756 fully guaranteed with Jacksonville.

During his college career at Idaho and Oregon State, Luton threw for 5,630 yards while completing 62.2 percent of his passes to go along with 43 touchdowns and 15 interceptions over the course of four seasons and 29 games.
