Jaguars Worked Out RB Mike Gillislee

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jaguars worked out RB Mike Gillislee on Thursday.

The Lions previously worked Gillislee out back in February, but this is the first reported interest in him since then.

Gillislee, 28, was a fifth-round pick of the Dolphins in the 2013 NFL Draft. He spent just over two years in Miami before he was among their roster cuts at the start of the 2015 regular season.

After a brief stint with the Cardinals, the Bills signed him to their practice squad during the 2015 season and brought him back on a one-year deal. Buffalo later lost Gillislee when they declined to match the Patriots’ two-year, $6.4 million restricted offer sheet.

Gillislee was set to make a base salary of $1.9 million for the 2018 season when the Patriots released him last year and he eventually signed on with the Saints. Unfortunately, New Orleans waived him in October.

In 2018, Gillislee appeared in four games and rushed for 43 yards on 16 carries (2.7 YPC) to go along with one reception for nine yards and no touchdowns.
