Jairus Byrd Hasn’t Requested A Trade Out Of Buffalo

Bills CEO Russ Brandon told reporters on Wednesday that S Jairus Byrd has not requested a trade.

“There was no trade requested. That isn’t even a topic of conversation in this building,” said Brandon, via WGR 550.

Ian Rapoport adds that Byrd is in fact “open to a trade,” but has yet to request one.

We’ve already mentioned a number of reason why a trade is unlikely to happen. As of last week, only 11 NFL teams could actually afford to take on Byrd’s current salary and the fact that he’s currently missing time with a plantar fasciitis only complicates the situation further.

It’s doubtful that a trade involving Byrd gets done before Week 8’s trade deadline.

We have Byrd listed as the No. 2 player in our Top 50 – 2014 NFL Free Agents list.
