According to Ethan Greenberg, the Jets have activated three players from injured lists on Saturday, including LB Avery Williamson and TE Ryan Griffin from the Physically Unable to Perform list and TE Daniel Brown from their non-football injury list.
Williamson, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Titans back in 2014. He played out his rookie contract with Tennessee before agreeing to a three-year, $22.5 million contract that includes $16 million guaranteed with the Jets.
Williamson missed the entire 2019 season after tearing his ACL last preseason. New York placed him on their PUP list last month.
He is set to make a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2020 season.
In 2018, Williamson appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and recorded 120 tackles, three sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles, and six pass defenses.
Griffin, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Texans back in 2013. He was in the second year of his three-year, $9 million contract that includes $3.225 million guaranteed when the Texans released him last offseason after an arrest for vandalism and public intoxication.
The Jets later signed Griffin to a contract in July. Griffin was in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020 when the Jets signed him to a three-year extension worth up to $10.8 million late last year.
New York picked up his contract option for 2021 back in March.
In 2019, Griffin appeared in 13 games for the Jets and caught 34 passes for 320 yards receiving and five touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 36 tight end out of 66 qualifying players.
