The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they’ve claimed CB Montrel Meander off of waivers from the Raiders.
Meander, 24, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Grambling State back in May of last year. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract, but was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Browns’ practice squad.
The Raiders later signed Meander to their active roster in November before being placed on waivers Tuesday.
As a senior at Grambling State, Meander appeared in 13 games and recorded 49 tackles, two interceptions and two pass defenses.
