Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Jets are closing in on a deal with Redskins WR Jamison Crowder.
- According to Mike Garafolo, Crowder receives a three-year, $28.5 million contract that includes $17 million guaranteed.
The Jets had been linked to Crowder in recent weeks, so this isn’t a big surprise.
It will be interesting to see what salary he gets, as there has been a lot of buzz about slot receivers getting close to $10 million per year.
Crowder, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.825 million contract and made a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.
In 2018, Crowder appeared in nine games for the Redskins and caught 29 passes for 388 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 30 yards on four carries. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 91 receiver out of 117 qualifying players.
We had him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
