Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets have also had trade discussions involving OLB Jordan Jenkins. However, Mehta says their asking price has been too high for teams up to this point.
This comes after Mehta reported that the Jets are shopping TE Chris Herndon leading up to today’s deadline.
The Jets have made it clear they’re open for business in terms of trades and have already completed multiple deals in recent weeks as they look to reshape their roster in the coming years under GM Joe Douglas.
Jenkins, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Jets back in 2016. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3.12 million contract before returning to New York on a one-year, $5 million deal this past March.
Jenkins will, once again, be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
In 2020, Jenkins has appeared in eight games for the Jets and recorded nine tackles and a sack.
