Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Jets OL Leo Koloamatangi is opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns.
Koloamatangi, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Hawaii back in 2017. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Lions cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
Koloamatangi was on and off of the Lions’ practice squad before signing on with the Jets last year. He returned to New York on an exclusive rights deal this past April.
Koloamatangi has yet to appear in an NFL game.
