The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they’ve placed OLB Frankie Luvu on injured reserve with a groin injury.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list after just three games.
Luvu, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Washington State back in2018 before securing a tryout with the Jets. He signed on with New York and has been on and off of their roster over the past few years.
The Jets re-signed Luvu to an exclusive rights contract this past offseason.
In 2020, Luvu has appeared in six games for the Jets and recorded 41 tackles, four sacks and a pass defense.
