Jets Place WR Greg Salas On I.R. & Promote WR Chris Owusu

The New York Jets announced Thursday that they have placed WR Greg Salas on season-ending injured reserve and promoted WR Chris Owusu from thir practice squad.

Salas, 26, suffered a hamstring injury during Monday’s night loss to the Miami Dolphins. He’s in the final year of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent after the season has concluded.

Salas appeared in 10 games and caught eight passes for 167 yards and ran for 20 yards and a touchdown on one carry.

Owusu, 24, signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2012. Since then, he has played briefly for the Buccaneers and Chargers before joining the Jets in September and later ending up on their practice squad.

This season, Owusu has appeared in four games and caight three passes for 27 yards and a touchdown.
