The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they’ve placed Gย James Carpenter on injured reserve Wednesday with a shoulder injury and promoted OL Ben Braden to theirย active roster.
- The Jets also signed RB Mark Thompson to their practice squad.

Carpenter, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2011. After four years in Seattle, he wound up signing a four-year, $19.1 million contractย that includedย $7.5 million guaranteed with the Jets back in 2015.
Carpenter will make a base salary of $4.45 million for the 2018 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.
In 2018, Carpenter appeared in 10 games for the Jets.
