Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Jets are placing WRย Quincy Enunwa on injured reserve Monday with a neck injury.
The Jets already had suspect depth at receiver after parting ways with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker this offseason, but losing their No. 1 option before playing their first preseason game is a big issue.
New York’s receiving corps currently consists of:
- Robby Anderson
- ArDarius Stewart
- Charone Peake
- Chad Hansen
- Jalin Marshall
- Lucky Whitehead
- Marquess Wilson
Enunwa, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jets back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his three-year, $1.995 million and stands to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season.
Enunwa will be an unrestricted free agent next March.
In 2016, Enunwa appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and caught 58 passes for 857 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
