The New York Jets announced Saturday that they’veย promoted LB Freddie Bishopย and DLย Lawrence Thomas to their active roster and waived LB Edmond Robinson with an injury designation.
Should Robinson pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the teamโs injured reserve list on Monday.
Bishop, 27, originally signed on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan back in 2013. He lasted just over a month in Detroit before he was waived.
Bishop later joined the Calgary Stampeders and played there for three seasons in theย CFL before the Jets signed him to a contract last February. He was on and off of their active roster last season but was, unfortunately, cut loose a few weeks ago.
In 2016, Bishop appeared in four games and recorded nine tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.
