Jets Promote OLB Frankie Luvu, Waive FB Lawrence Thomas

The New York Jets announced that they have officially promoted OLB Frankie Luvu from their practice squad to the active roster and waived FB Lawrence Thomas in a corresponding roster move.

Luvu wound up going undrafted out of Washington State before securing a tryout with the Jets. He signed on with the team back in May but was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

New York elected to sign him to their practice squad once he passed through waivers unclaimed.

During his four-year college career at Washington State, Luvu recorded 110 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
