The New York Jets announced Monday that they’ve officially promoted QB Luke Falk to their active roster and waived S Bennett Jackson.
Falk will serve as Trevor Siemian‘s backup while Sam Darnold is out with mono.
Falk, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Titans back in 2018. He wound up being among the Titans’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason last year and was later claimed off of waivers by the Dolphins.
Miami elected to cut Falk loose following this year’s draft and he was later claimed by the Jets before once again being released at the start of the regular season. The Jets re-signed him to their practice squad soon after.
During his four-year college career at Washington State, Falk threw for 14,481 yards while completing 68.3 percent of his passes to go along with 119 touchdowns and 39 interceptions over the course of 42 games.
