Jets Sign Ben Obomanu, Place David Garrard On The Retired List

The New York Jets announced the signing of former Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu on Thursday.

Veteran QB David Garrard was subsequently placed on the reserve/retired list following his recent decision to hang up his cleats.

The Obomanu signing makes sense when you consider that GM John Idzik comes the Seahawks organization and the fact that they could use some additional receiver help. As of now, the Jets receiving corp consists of Santonio Holmes, Stephen Hill, Jeremy KerleyJordan White and Clyde Gates.

Last year, he appeared in 8 games for Seattle, but only managed to catch 4 passes for 58 yards.
