The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they’ve signed RB Jeremy Langford to a futures deal for the 2018 season.
As of now, the Jets have signed 10 players to futures deals including:
- G Ben Braden
- T Korren Kirven
- WR Jalin Marshall
- WR Tre McBride
- DL Claude Pelon
- DB Terrell Sinkfield
- QB Joel Stave
- WR Damore’ea Stringfellow
- WR Daniel Williams
- RBย Jeremy Langford
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Langford, 25, was taken with the No. 106 overall pick in the fourth round of last year’s NFL draft by the Bears. He was in the second year of his four-year, $3.139 million rookieย contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season when the Bears cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
The Ravens signed Langford to their practice squad soon and was been on and off of the unit before eventually catching on with the Jets in December.
In 2016, Langford appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and recorded 62 rushing attempts for 200 yards (3.2 YPC).
