The New York Jets announced Friday that they’ve signed sixth-round RB Trenton Cannon to a four-year contract.
This is the first draft pick to sign his rookie deal with the Jets.
“I’m feeling good, just settling on in,” said Cannon. “Right now I’m getting into the playbook, learning the plays.”
Cannon was selected in the sixth-round of this year’s NFL draft by the Jets. According to OverTheCap.com, Cannon will receive a four-year, $2,599,228 contract that includes a $139,228 signing bonus.
During his college career at Virginia State, Cannon appeared in 38 games and rushed for 4,246 yards (7.1 yards/carry) and scored 46 touchdowns. He also caught 51 passes for 638 more yards and seven more TDs while helping out on special teams.
