The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they’ve signed former Vikings and Panthers TE Bucky Hodges to a contract.
This is the second tight end the Jets have added in as many days after they claimed Clive Walford off waivers from the Raiders on Monday.
Hodges, 22, is a former sixth-round of the Vikings back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.55-million contract with the Vikings and was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement when Minnesota waived him with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.
Hodgers was later waivedย from the Vikings injured reserve midseason before signing on to the Panthers’ practice squad. Unfortunately, Carolina released him in October and he didn’t catch on with another team until now.
During his college career at Virginia Tech, Hodges caught 133 passes for 1,747 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns to go along with 89 rushing and 21 total touchdowns over the course of 39 games.
