The Jets announced Wednesday they’ve signed TE Temuchin Hodges, formerly known as Bucky Hodges, to their roster.
He’s the second tight end signed by the team in as many days following the addition of TE Ryan Griffin.
Hodges, 23, is a former sixth-round of the Vikings back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.55-million contract with the Vikings but was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.
Minnesota eventually cut Hodges loose a few weeks later and he would go on to have brief stints with the Panthers, Bills and Jets before the Steelers signed him to a contract last August.
He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but the Steelers later signed him to their taxi squad.
Hodges was released by the Steelers in April, 2019.
During his college career at Virginia Tech, Hodges caught 133 passes for 1,747 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns to go along with 89 rushing and 21 total touchdowns over the course of 39 games.
