Jets TE Kellen Winslow Suspended 4 Games For PEDs

The NFL has announced that Jets TE Kellen Winslow has been suspended four games for violating the league’s PED policy.

  • It came as a huge surprise to me when I learned I tested positive for a banned substance,” said Winslow, via Ian Rapoport“I do not take supplements that list banned ingredients. NFL policy is very strict, so I am accountable.”

Winslow’s suspension begins immediately. He will be eligible to return to the Jets’ active roster on November 4. Winslow’s will lose $197,647 in salary while serving his suspension, according to NYJetsCap.com.

Winslow has not been at practice this week and reportedly expressed some frustrations during Monday night’s win over the Falcons. Jeff Cumberland appears to be the team’s No. 1 tight end, so this is hardly the type of thing that will endear him to the team’s coaching staff moving forward.
