Jets Waive TE Nick Truesdell

The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they’ve waived TE Nick Truesdell to make room for G Alex Lewis, who was acquired in a trade with the Ravens and has passed his physical for the Jets.

Truesdell, 29, wound up signing on with the Colorado Ice of the Arena Football League as an undrafted free agent out of Grand Rapids back in 2014. He later played for the Spokane Shock and the Portland Steel before joining the Colts in 2016.

Unfortunately, Truesdell lasted just a few days in Indianapolis before he was waived. The Vikings signed him to a contract in 2017 only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Vikings later brought Truesdell back for a short stint on their practice squad in January 2018, only to cut him again before the end of the month. Truesdell played this spring for the Salt Lake Stallions of the now-defunct AAF.

The Jets signed him to a contract in recent days.

During his three-year Arena league career, Truesdell caught 127 passes for 1,527 yards receiving and 38 touchdowns for Spokane and Portland.
