The New York Jets announced Saturday that they’ve waived Sย Jaiquawn Jarrett with the injury designation to make room for veteran Pย Steve Weatherford, who was signed to their roster.
Shouldย Jarrett pass through waivers unclaimed, the Jets would be able to add him to their injured reserve.
Jarrett, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2011. He lasted just over a year in Philadelphia before he was waived at the start of the 2012 season. The Jets later signed him to a future/reserve contract at the end of the season.
New York elected to re-sign Jarrett back in April to a restricted contract worthย $1.542 million for the 2015 season.
This season, Jarrett has been active for four games, but has yet to record a single statistic for the Jets.
