Jets WR Chris Owusu officially cleared waivers on Monday and was placed on season-ending injured reserve, according to the NFL Transactions release.
Owusu, 25, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2012. He lasted just a few months in San Francisco before briefly playing for the Chargers and Buccaneers.
The Jets wound up signing him to a contract at start of last season, but he has been on an off of their roster ever since.
This season, Owusu has appeared in three games and caught six passes for 80 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He’s also contributed 58 kick return yards for the Jets.
