Jim Caldwell Expected To Interview For Two More HC Jobs

According to Michael Lombardi, former Colts and Lions HC Jim Caldwell will interview for two more open head coaching jobs, not including the Packers, who have already interviewed him.

Lombardi doesn’t offer any specifics about who these teams are, but says Caldwell is already organizing staff members for his potential return to the NFL.

The Browns are the only other vacant NFL job at this point, so it’s possible they could bring Caldwell in as part of their search.

Recent reports have said that Caldwell is ready to return to the NFL for the 2019 season and was among the first-tier candidates recommended by the Career Development Advisory Panel.

Caldwell, 63, began his head coaching career with the Colts back in 2009 after taking over for Tony Dungy. He spent three years in charge of Indianapolis before he was fired after the 2011 season.

After a stint with the Ravens as their offensive coordinator, the Lions hired him as their head coach in 2015. Detroit made the decision to move on from Caldwell this past January.

During his seven years as a head coach for the Colts and Lions, Caldwell led them to a record of 62-50 (55.4 percent) which includes four playoff appearances and one trip to the AFC Championship game.
