On Thursday, Eagles DC Jim Schwartz confirmed in a statement that he’s moving on as the team’s defensive coordinator.

Reports surfaced last week that Schwartz was expected to move on this offseason. He’s reportedly weighing retirement after dealing with some health issues and has had multiple recent hip and eye surgeries.
Schwartz, 54, spent eight years as the Titans’ defensive coordinator before he was hired as the Lions’ head coach in 2009. Hep spent five years as the Lions’ head coach before he was fired after the 2013 season.
Schwartz spent a year with the Bills and eventually joined the Eagles as their defensive coordinator in 2016.
During his five years with the Lions, Schwartz led them to a record of 29-51 (36.3 percent) including one playoff appearance.
