Josh Gordon Hoping To Be Back With Seahawks

Seahawks WR Josh Gordon said Wednesday that he’s really enjoyed his time in Seattle and would like to return to the team next year.

“Oh yeah, absolutely. Seattle is amazing,” Gordon said, via Pro Football Talk. “Football aside, I’d definitely love to live in a place like this.

Gordon singled out the Seahawks’ culture as one of the things that had has really stood out to him since joining the team midseason.

“It’s just the culture,” Gordon said. “It’s just different, something that I think has felt more like a fit, I guess, to me. It’s pretty natural. It’s pretty smooth. … It’s hard to explain. It’s hard to explain why I like it here.

“I think I’m just fortunate in general to have landed in a place like this with a coach like this. It’s real family like. It’s real close, real tight-knit – a real lively, energetic group. And competitive more than anything. They love the game of football. You can see it. It’s a great feeling to come back to football and enjoy what you do.

Gordon is in line to be a free agent next year, but he’s hoping to return to Seattle and make it a home.

“That’s my hope,” Gordon said. “Thinking optimistically, I think that’s every player’s goal, to try and find a place you can call home. In all aspects I think that’s a bonus.

Gordon, 28, is a former second-round supplemental pick of the Browns back in 2012. Suspensions forced Gordon to sit out the 2015 and 2016 seasons but he was reinstated in November of 2017 and finished out the seasons with the Browns.

The Browns re-signed Gordon to a one-year exclusive rights contract worth $790,000 but he was traded to the Patriots for a fifth-round pick. New England re-signed Gordon to a one-year, restricted deal this offseason that will pay him $2.025 million for the 2019 season.

Gordon was waived from injured reserve a few months ago and later claimed by the Seahawks. He’s in line to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career next year.

In 2019, Gordon has appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks and Patriots and caught 26 passes for 368 yards receiving and one touchdown.
