Browns head coach Pat Shurmur said rookie wide receiver Josh Gordon‘s role won’t diminish once wide receivers Mohamed Massaquoi and Travis Benjamin return from injury, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron-Beacon Journal.
โJosh is one of our guys,โ Shurmur said in regards to Gordon’s role, via Ulrich.
Since Massaquoi went down three weeks ago with a hamstring injury, Gordon has tallied six catches for 197 yards and three touchdowns. The speedy, playmaking wide receiver is starting to show signs that he can be a deep threat that defenses must keep their eyes on. If Gordon can be consistent, along with Trent Richardson on the ground, and with rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden improving, the trio could give the Browns a formidable offense, something they haven’t had since they rejoined the NFL in 1999.
