Report: Lions Have An Offer Out To S Louis Delmas

Albert Breer reports that the Lions have made free agent S Louis Delmas a contract offer, but he intends to hit the open market before deciding on anything.

We have Delmas listed as the No. 27 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Dave Birkett tweets that Louis Delmas physical is a pre-free agency check up that they’ve had scheduled for since last week.

The speculation could be a little ahead of itself in regards to him possibly re-signing with the Lions.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Lions are flying unrestricted free agent S Louis Delmas in today for a physical.

This looks like a pretty good sign that a deal could come together at some point today.

Delmas, 25, is one of the best available safeties in this year’s free agent class, so it makes sense for Detroit to be aggressive and try to prevent him from meeting with NFL teams late tonight.

Delmas, is the best safety out there when it comes to being injured, so he must be the hottest commodity that won’t get picked up by another team. It is my hope that some sucker does offer him big free agent dollars so I can laugh when he gets busted up in his play of his first game for them and can’t practise all season and only plays a handful of plays in a handful of games every year of his new big contract.
