Lions Discussed Trades For TE Eric Ebron At Combine

Adam Schefter reports that Lions TEย Eric Ebron‘s name came up in trade discussions at the Combine last weekend. Schefter adds that the Lions were listening and this is something to watch.

Last year, Ebron’s name surfaced in trade rumors, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise, even though GM Bob Quinn indicated that they planned to keep him in Detroit for the 2018 season.

Ebron, 24, was taken with the No. 10 overall pick by the Lions back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $12.249 million rookie contract and made a base salary of $1,590,337 for the 2017 season.

The Lions elected to pick up his fifth-year option last April, which will cost them around $8,250,000ย for the 2018 season but is guaranteed only for injury.

According toย OverTheCap.com,ย tradingย Ebron would free up $8.25 millionย of available cap space while creating no dead money.

In 2017, Ebron appeared in all 16 games for the Lions and caught 53 passes for 574 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
