According to Adam Schefter, the Lions have gotten trade inquiries regarding CB Darius Slay.
Schefter adds it would take a lot for a team to pry Slay from the Lions. However, with the number of teams interested in upgrading in their secondary, he wouldn’t rule it out.
Slay skipped mandatory minicamp in June over unhappiness with his current contract. He lost workout bonuses of $250,000 and was fined $88,650.
Slay, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Lions back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract before agreeing to a four-year, $50.2 million extension that included $23 million fully guaranteed.
Slay stands to make a base salary of $12 million for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Slay has appeared in five games for the Lions and recorded 16 tackles, one fumble recovery, one interception and three pass defenses.
We’ll have more on Slay and the Lions as the news is available.
